I haven’t blogged on any operational or adminstrative things in a couple days because this conference call has been occupying my brain housing group.  Me and Minister had a very in depth conversation about my intent.  I have already voiced that to everyone via twitter etc.  I will not deviate from that intent no matter what.  This call is NOT a set up for business development, but I do hope that out of this we can develop our business of security in the same direction.

Where are we and where are we going is the name of this SHIP and anyone and everyone that is in the business of Security in welcomed.  Everyday I blog about things that, many of the company readers, don’t teach and if they did, wouldn’t share without a $ attached to it.  You can ask anyone that knows me well that I don’t chase the dollar, I chase the dream.  Money can be, and I say can be, the root of many evils.  To that end, my word to you is that nothing attached to these open dialogues will cost you a penney.  We are in the business of making money and anything I can do to right this ship that will ultimately make us ALL more money means more to me that charging a fellow warrior on how to dodge a bulletand maintain professionalism at the same time.  I know my business partners are cringing now, but I ask that everyone come with an open mind and your cup half full and we can make this happen

NOW, just like anything else, there are the naysayers out there that are already talking and mumbling behind the scenes.  To you I say, “Kick Rocks’ and keep it and your negativity moving.  The Rocks I kick are driveways to success [Eric Konohia] There are no guarantees to anything in life, but I feel comfortable in saying that if you lend a listening ear, I will change your perspective on what you do in this industry and how you do it.

We are all in this together, like it or not, yet there is a certain sect of “Old School and New Jacks” out there that don’t feel that they can lower themselves to make this thing better.  They live by the premise, “I got mine”.  I live by one of my favorite poems:

An old man, going a lone highway,
Came at the evening cold and gray,
To a chasm, vast and deep and wide,
Through which was flowing a sullen tide.
The old man crossed in the twilight dim-
That sullen stream had no fears for him;
But he turned, when he reached the other side,
And built a bridge to span the tide.

“Old man,” said a fellow pilgrim near,
“You are wasting strength in building here.
Your journey will end with the ending day;
You never again must pass this way.
You have crossed the chasm, deep and wide,
Why build you the bridge at the eventide?”

The builder lifted his old gray head.
“Good friend, in the path I have come,” he said,
“There followeth after me today
A youth whose feet must pass this way.
This chasm that has been naught to me
To that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be.
He, too, must cross in the twilight dim;
Good friend, I am building the bridge for him.”

Stay tuned for the date, conference call number and see you all on the Webex call.  Stay safe
