In yesterday’s blog I encouraged everyone to listen to Larry Snow’s Podcast interview with Dave Johnson of ITG regarding the National Certification for Dignitary and Executive Protection. In today’s blog I am incorporating with the BPI Security youtube weekly announcement where I give my spin on the national certification and how it will effect security company owners and the client base. Click the video below and get my perspective on this well overdue project.

I am the Operations Manager for United Ranger here in Texas, I have a client out of LA that travels a lot and wanted me to look into this national licence. Is this something that is new? I keep running into the same thing people saying there is no such thing that I need to go state to state… can you help me on this.

Roger,
There is no national license, however there is a group working on a national certification. You will have to get licensed from state to state. The problem is that some states do not have specific licenses for executive protection whereby the wording for EP may fall under the private investigator license. Read you local and state laws carefully.
